The Tunsbergdalsbreen Expedition Blog!

Hello and welcome to the Tunsbergdalsbreen Expedition Blog!

Jostedalsbreen GlacierThis is where you can keep up to date with the first annual expedition to the Tunsbergdalsbreen glacier: the largest outlet glacier of the Jostedal icecap in southern Norway. The regular shape and behaviour of this glacier make it ideal for monitoring climate change, which is the purpose of the expedition.

Access to the glacier is difficult however, so the expedition team will undertake the traditional approach of ferrying the equipment to a base camp from which real exploration, challenging mountaineering and vital scientific work can be carried out.

My name is Martin Holland and I’ll be updating this blog with news and developments regularly. You can find out more about the expedition by clicking the tab at the top of the page, and more about me by doing the same, or visiting my website. The plan is to get the equipment we need to update this blog in real time from the glacier itself. To do that we’re going to need a lot of people’s help, in the form of advice, kit, and donations.

If you want to support this expedition and get a place on our prestigious ‘Sponsor List’, contact me now!
